You will experience a one-minute freefall from the initial jump while your instructor keeps your body perfectly balanced and perpendicular to his before pulling the parachute. Once the parachute is open, you will begin a five-minute glide back down to Earth as you float peacefully and take in magnificent views of the desert scenery. Your instructor may give you the option of an additional thrill by directing the parachute to angle downward and corkscrew rapidly toward the ground, but if the freefall is enough for you, the instructor will bring you in for a soft landing.

You will be required to wear a jumpsuit, so wear loose-fitting and comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement. Depending on the weather, shorts and a tee shirt or lightweight pants are ideal. Sneakers or flat-soled shoes are a MUST; they keep your feet safe and are the best for the landing.

First, skydiving is not hard, and it is not physically strenuous. As far as the weight requirement, typically, it depends on the skydiving equipment being used, but the industry standard dictates a maximum of 225 pounds. The minimum age requirement is 16, but there is no maximum age for skydiving. Be sure to put something in your stomach but don’t overdo it; eat something light, and don’t drink and fly.
