In most clubs in other cities, there is little difference between an Independent Host and a Promoter, but in Vegas, there is a distinction between the two.
- Promoters – if you have encountered promoters while walking the Las Vegas Strip, they are an integral part of the club scene in Las Vegas. They are charming and friendly and have a deep knowledge of the daylife and nightlife scene in Las Vegas, allowing them to effectively engage with a passerby and convince them to visit the club they are promoting. Hosts, a.k.a. Internal Hosts, work directly for the club. They are required to be on property to help with operations throughout the night. Most are paid a salary and commission by the club and have many responsibilities and quotas to meet in order to maintain their employment.
The work environment for these hosts is primarily numbers-driven. The club operators will generally post the numbers to the internal team, and just like any competitive commission-type structure, you do not want to have a bad showing. The way it works in Vegas is when you have a customer at your venue, and that customer wants to go to another pool or club, as an Internal Host, you can only trade with other Internal Hosts from other venues. In most cases, your host will have many different clients and several responsibilities to deal with when you are in town. They won't be able to devote as much of the evening with you as you would like, and if you want to go to another Las Vegas pool party or nightclub, they will likely pass you off to someone who works at that particular club.

Advantages of Booking with an Indy Host
We might sound biased, giving us the nod compared to Internal Hosts, but we have more than 25 years in the industry, so we speak from experience, and we have also worked both ends of the spectrum. We have heard the argument many times that if you work with an Indy Host, you will pay more money, but for the most part, that's not true! Las Vegas nightclubs, beach clubs, dayclubs, and pool parties list the pricing on their websites. If you book online, you will be assigned an Internal Host, and you will be paying full retail prices. Before you do that, please check with us; we likely have an opportunity to offer you a better deal or a lower minimum.
On some high-demand pool days and big DJ nights, the price is the same for both the Independent Hosts and the Internal Hosts. If you want a particular table, then you pay the full retail price. As a licensed Indy Host, just like an Internal Host, we make a commission based on the minimum spend. A couple of examples are Encore Beach Club on just about any weekend and Drai's Nightclub on nights with world-famous DJs and artists. Because of our relationships and buying power, we can combine our buying resources with a couple of other large Indy companies to drive a significant amount of revenue and get the same pricing or better as the Internal Hosts. Some smaller Indy Hosts will not get the same prices as we do; we are well-known in the industry, and we are a licensed, legitimate company with years of experience under our belt.
The one advantage Internal Hosts do have is access to the internal booking system so they can see what's going on with the reservations. Fortunately for large Indy's like us, we almost always deal directly with the managers, so they keep us informed about what's going on, and they give us the best options possible to be as competitive as we can.
For us, the customer is the focal point of our business. As an independent professional nightlife company, we work for you, not the clubs! We're not saying Internal Hosts don't care about their customers; they do; however, in this cut-throat industry, it's all about meeting their numbers; they really do not have a vested interest. If an Internal Host does not have paying customers, they will not hit their required quota (nor will they make a commission), which means they may lose their job.
With the intense pressure to continuously sell, sell, sell, you will find that the Club Host is working tirelessly while at the club and typically will not be able to hang out with their customers. Every once in a while, when they get off from work, you might see them with a customer or a group, but not that often. HOW DO I KNOW IT'S LEGIT?
Independent Hosts are not created equal! Las Vegas is full of Independent Hosts, but there's a big difference between the best and the rest. Take note of the big websites that pop up on every keyword related to Las Vegas, and you'll find the top Independent Hosts. These are real companies with employees, LLCs, and automated systems.
If you do a lot of volume, people respect you for your strong work ethic and your business acumen, and the clubs want to do business with you because you bring them a bunch of revenue. A lot of volume means volume discounts and the prime inventory pick, a.k.a. the best tables. Nowadays, it's easy to look at Yelp, Google, or Facebook and check reviews. If an "Independent Host" doesn't have legit reviews or a legit website, then I would strongly encourage you to walk away no matter what kind of "deal" you are being offered.
